Oakland police fire tear gas, flash grenades on Occupy protesters 28 Jan 2012 Oakland police used tear gas and "flash" grenades Saturday to break up an estimated 2,000 Occupy protesters after some demonstrators started throwing objects at officers and tearing down fencing. There were at least 19 arrests, but no reports of serious injuries. Police declared an unlawful assembly after marchers tore down perimeter fences at the vacant Henry Kaiser Convention Center.

The police are accussing the folks from Occupy of throwing things? Based upon the history of the police when it comes to dealing with Occupy, someone probably threw a piece of paper in the garbage can and all hell broke loose. The Oakland cops are a bunch of bullies whose only welfare their looking out for is that of Big Business. They certainly aren't looking out for the welfare of its citzens. Really? Flash grenades? You would have thought they'd learn their lesson the last time they used such tactics and ended up cracking the skull of VET who had recently just returned from serving in Afghanastan. Some welcome home! Again, can someone please tell me what was thrown at the cops that warrented such a reaction from the thuds, I mean, cops? Shameful!
