Royal Marine killed in bomb blast on foot patrol near Sangin 31 May 2010 A Royal Marine was killed last night in a bomb blast while on a foot patrol near Sangin, a notorious area of northern Helmand that will come under direct US command from tomorrow. The Marine, from 40 Commando Royal Marines, is the eighth British service personnel to die over the past month, a sign that the annual summer fighting season is gathering pace.
