Shots Fired Near White House in Attempted Robbery, 4 Suspects At Large 09 Nov 2012 An attempted robbery near DuPont Circle Friday morning led to shots being fired near the White House, and now police are hunting four suspects. The incident began with an attempted robbery near the corner of 18th Street and Jefferson Place, after 6 a.m. Multiple people were robbed by a group of suspects, police say. One of the robbery victims pursued the suspect in the direction of Lafayette Square, just a few blocks from the White House.
