ShareThisJudge Blocks Deep-Water Drilling Moratorium 22 Jun 2010 A federal judge in New Orleans on Tuesday blocked a six-month moratorium on new deepwater drilling projects imposed in response to the massive Gulf oil spill. The White House promised an immediate appeal. President Barack Obama's administration had halted approval of any new permits for deepwater drilling and suspended drilling of 33 exploratory wells in the Gulf.

You're all looking at it backwards. The more drilling in the area the better. The oil needs to be TAKEN OUT OF THE GROUND in order to empty the reserves, lower the pressure, and allow the spill to be fully contained.

Deep-water drilling is ALWAYS going to result in disaster. Even if these lying cheap incompetents manage to put in a relief pipe and draw off enough pressure to cap this one disaster, there should NEVER EVER EVER be a hole drilled into the Gulf's limestone layer EVER again.
