Who's
Behind the Attack on Liberal Professors? --by Dave Johnson "In
a recent article on HNN Professors Eric Foner and Glenda Gilmore
worry that academic freedom is being eroded. While they address
the McCarthyite tactics of the right, I think there may also be
another interesting story here."

Myth-ing
In Action - The Media - "Al Gore and the Democrats did
not run a bad campaign. The media ran a bad election. The Clintons
are not corrupt. The media is corrupt. America has not lost its
moral compass. The media has lost credibility.... In today's world,
the news is big business and the media is giving America the business."

Laughing
Sickness What makes this serious business is that for the last
twenty or so years comedy has played an increasingly active role
in our national politics. According to surveys, fully a third of
Americans get their political information exclusively from the late
night monologues of David Letterman and Jay Leno...

Once
again, the media try to con the people into believing Bush won
By Bev Conover
April 5, 2001With each little game the major media, with the
exception of the Palm Beach Post, are playing with the Florida ballots
in a feeble attempt to legitimize the illegitimate Bush administration,
it becomes clearer and clearer, that, if one carefully reads what
they are saying, Al Gore won the Sunshine State, was entitled to
its 25 electoral votes and should be residing in the White House
today.

Will
there be standardized math tests for political reporters? The
Columbus Dispatch in Columbus Ohio reported that 4 people showed
up to protest Bush when he visited an elementary school here. I
was there! The crowd was more like 40! To make matters worse, The
associated press picked up the eronious story and blasted this untruth
all over the country. Was this dishonest, or just sloppy reporting?
The OSU Latern got it right.
Maybe we should forget the corporate sponsored media. At least in
this case, the college kids did a much more accurate and professional
job!

James Higdon: 'The yellow wall of silence' I fear that I am no longer capable
of even making a point. The behavior of the pundit "personalities"
on cable, and much of the print media, most of television, and nearly
all of radio, (the Washington press corps in general) are so pathetic,
they are not worth the match it would take to set them afire. Does
no one else feel this outrage? Will none but a few of us even speak
to this issue? MORE
