House panel to hold hearing on stock market plunge 07 May 2010  The House Financial Services Committee's securities subcommittee is scheduled to hold a hearing on May 11 to examine the circumstances behind the U.S. stock market's sharp, plunge on Thursday. "Within a matter of minutes, we faced a market that seemed just as volatile as it did in the fall of 2008," said House Financial Services subcommittee chairman Paul Kanjorski, D-Penn., in a statement.
