Two Australian soldiers killed by bomb on first tour of Afghanistan 08 Jun 2010 Two Australian soldiers and a sniffer dog have been killed by a roadside bomb during their first tour of duty in Afghanistan. The Diggers belonged to the Mentoring Task Force and are the first Australians to die in 11 months, bringing the total number of deaths in the campaign to 13. Acting Defence Force chief David Hurley said the troops were based in Brisbane with the 2nd combat engineer regiment.
